Blue Mountain completes Resort Wide ERP Deployment with Cenium – Ski and Lifestyle Activities

Blue Mountain, Ontario’s largest mountain resort, nestled on the shores of Georgian Bay, located 90 minutes north of Toronto announced today, the completion of a resort wide ERP solution delivered by Microsoft Partner, Cenium.
Cenium developed the Lifestyle module that today provides the resort a comprehensive solution that runs all ticketing, rental and staff areas of ski, golf, spa and summer activities at the resort.
The resort spanning over 900 acres, Blue Mountain has become the four-season destination of the North, visited by more than 1.5 million guests a year. This year-round resort attracts visitors to over 1100 luxury accommodation units and 40 unique concept restaurants, bars and retail stores in the pedestrian village. Winter at the resort boasts 36 ski and snowboard trails enhanced by a world-class snowmaking system. The summer months offer the largest downhill mountain biking facility in Ontario, Monterra Golf course and a private beach property among other seasonal attractions. A Magnificent 80,000 sqft state-of-the-art conference space caters year-round to corporate groups.
Prior to implementing Cenium, the company did not use any structured solution. The company used an extensive number of different vertical applications, which did not consolidate data. Diverse systems add to data integrity issues and manual data reentry. In the absence of an automated environment, all the different systems acted as separate entities. Carrying out critical functions including communication, compilation and replication of data among all outlets and the head office was almost an impossible task. Apart from being a time-consuming activity, manual re-entry of data required much man-power and often resulted in inaccuracies along with higher administrative cost. In fact, it became completely prohibitive in relation to management initiatives.
Today Blue Mountain has replaced over 36 desperate solutions including the following:
- Back Office (GL, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Procurement, Document Mgmt)
- POS (Restaurant and Retail)
- Sales and Catering
- Activities (Golf, Spa and Ski)
- Rental/Ticketing and Season Passes (resortwide)
